Golden October in Gumpoldskirchen

Oktober 15th, 2010

On this golden October day we drove to the south of Vienna in another Wine District in Lower Austria : The Thermenregion. We took the direction Graz and left the motorway in Wiener Neudorf and drove to Gumpoldskirchen. (It took us about an hour from Mistelbach an der Zaya by car)

Gumpoldskirchen is a town in the district of Mödling (lower Austria). The municipal area extends from the flats in the Vienna Basin to forest areas of the Anningers in the Vienna Woods. Gumpoldskirchen is very famous for its wine and “Heurigers” as it attracts many tourists from Vienna to its hillside vineyards.” (Wikipedia)

From the Hotel Melkerhof a Path called “Weinwanderweg” gives you an impression of the village, the region and a lot of information about regional wine culture.
